Musical Advent Calendar 2013 – December 7

Today is Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.  It has been 72 years since the bombing of Pearl Harbor in World War II.  This is also the second day in-a-row that I have referenced World War II while setting up the musical advent calendar offering, which seems a little random.

Anyway, because Pearl Harbor is in the news, we’re going with the most famous of Hawaiian themed Christmas songs, “Mele Kalikimaka”!  And few artists make me think “Aloha!” more than Bing Crosby and The Andrews Sisters.  Well, at least the song was written by a Hawaiian.  In fact, Robert Alexander Anderson was a war hero during World War II!  But that is another story for another blog, because now it’s time to open up day seven of the musical advent calendar.  Mele Kalikimaka, everyone!
